 Rovesti & Bruce Homes in 2006 Rovesti & Bruce Homes c. 1910 Rovesti and Bruce Houses, 1910; 1917 770 & 754 Patton Street Ext.
These wood frame houses with their large pillared porches, and dormers in the low-pitched roofs, reflected the bungalow style popular in the early 1900s. The Rovesti House is somewhat smaller house with 6-rooms, and one-story and a half, typical of bungalows; while the two-story Bruce houses represents the larger type of “Semi-Bungalow.” Patton Street was one of the earlier residential neighborhoods in the community, and this picture was taken in the 1930s. Both houses remained in their respective families for a number of years. The picture below shows the same two houses, modernized, as they appear in 2006. The Rovesti house has expanded and enclosed the porch, while the Bruce house has retained its original shape.
