McCullough House in 2006 McCullough House, 1955
In many ways this house is a typical suburban ranch house of the 1950s. Earl and Norma Jean McCullough had the house built in what was then a sparsely populated section of northern Monroeville, an area with few stores, widely scattered houses, and mostly dirt roads. This low flat design, with its characteristic picture window in front and a built-in garage, holds 6 rooms and a finished basement. Unlike many other ranch homes built in Monroeville at this time, this house was not part of a plan, but built to owner specifications. The house remains the McCullough’s family home in 2006. |
