In 1850 Pitcairn was a sleepy village of a few scattered farms. But an event in 1850 was to transform it into a thriving, vibrant community: the coming of the Railroad! For the next one hundred years, the fortunes of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the town of Pitcairn would rise and fall together. This presentation focuses on the people and places of that era, combining historic photos from the archives of the Pitcairn Historical Society with the words of the people who lived in those times.
